50 years ago today: September 25, 1963

Dimitri Tiomkin participated in what is probably the greatest film music concert of all time fifty years ago today at the Hollywood Bowl. Tiomkin conducted music from High Noon (1952) and his song, “The Green Leaves of Summer,” from The Alamo (1960), sung by Mahalia Jackson.
