Wild Is the Wind, live from George Michael

Singer George Michael’s latest album, Symphonica, now in release from Island Records includes a live concert version of Dimitri Tiomkin’s song, “Wild is the Wind” from the film of the same name.

Symphonica’s eclectic mix of songs ranges from Tin Pan Alley classics, such as “Brother Can You Spare a Dime” to the 1970s folk classic popularized by singer Roberta Flack, “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”

“Wild Is the Wind,” is track 13 on Symphonica, Michael’s sixth album. It was recorded during the singer’s 2011-2012 international Symphonica tour.

Available from iTunes and amazon.com.

Jazz singer and bassist Esperanza Spalding, recorded a notable recent version in 2011 for her debut album, “Chamber Music Society.”

The sheet music is available in the “Dimitri Tiomkin Anthology.”
