Narrated by Lowell Thomas, the film captured unparalleled footage from a bygone era at the “Roof of the World,” the Himalayas and Karakoram mountains of Central Asia. The three-panel Cinerama travelogue trekked through the Hunza Valley, the Indus River, and the Shalimar Gardens in the Vale of Kashmir. In Katmandu the film crew took in the coronation ceremony of King Mahendra of Nepal.
