Foreign Trade Association

Bill Ziegler, Dimitri Tiomkin, and Dick Van Horn

The Foreign Trade Association of Southern California honored Dimitri Tiomkin with a scroll of commendation acknowledging the composer’s extraordinary contributions to world trade. The group presented the signed certificate to Tiomkin at Warner Bros. studio during the production of Giant in March 1956. The trade group was represented by their president, Bill Ziegler, and a director, Dick Van Horn. The two visited the studio to personally deliver the award to Tiomkin.

The Foreign Trade Association of Southern California (FTA) was founded in 1919 as the World Traders Club of Los Angeles. The FTA is the most prestigious and influential trade organization in California.
